About
Joe Daniels
Joseph C. “Joe” Daniels is a civic leader, executive and attorney whose career has centered on building institutions, leading through complexity and creating public-private partnerships.
He served as the founding President and CEO of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, helping lead the project from an ambitious civic promise through construction, fundraising, opening and operation. He later served as CEO of the National Medal of Honor Museum and CEO of Team IMPACT.
Earlier in his career, Daniels worked at McKinsey & Company and practiced corporate law at Cravath, Swaine & Moore. His current work focuses on economic development, innovation and New York City’s competitiveness.

From idea to institution.
Daniels joined the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation in 2005 and went on to become its founding President and CEO. The work required building consensus across government, families, donors, architects, builders, historians and the public while preserving the meaning of one of the most consequential events in American history.
